HOLDCOM EDI Privacy Policy
HOLDCOM AUTO PARTS provides HOLDCOM EDI for Android, iPhone and iPad. The sections below describe how each version handles information.
Android app
HOLDCOM AUTO PARTS provides HOLDCOM EDI. This notice describes the Android app and its handling of information.
Information used on your device
EDI reads vehicle measurements and diagnostic responses through your chosen Bluetooth OBD adapter or a compatible radio's CAN service. It saves the selected adapter's Bluetooth address, vehicle profile, dashboard preferences, calibration settings and lap timer results on your device.
With your permission, EDI accesses precise location while its screen is active to calculate GPS speed and help stabilise the G-force display. Location fixes are processed in memory. EDI does not record a route or save latitude and longitude in its reports. Available motion sensors provide the G-force display.
Nearby devices permission lets EDI find and connect to an OBD adapter. Older Android versions also require location permission for Bluetooth scanning. You can change these permissions in Android settings; readings that depend on a denied permission will be unavailable.
Reports and local records
When you save a capture or export a report, it can contain vehicle measurements, fault codes, adapter identity, connection information, timestamps and lap times. Exports are saved to the destination you choose, or to EDI's app storage when a document picker is unavailable. A cloud storage destination you choose may upload that file under that provider's privacy policy.
Connection diagnostics also appear in EDI's local connection log and Android's device logs. EDI does not automatically send these logs to HOLDCOM.
Sharing and purchases
EDI has no account system, advertising SDK or analytics SDK. The app does not automatically upload your location, vehicle readings, reports or adapter identity to HOLDCOM or an analytics service. The Android app does not request internet access.
The app store handles purchases and redemption codes under its own privacy policy. EDI does not receive your payment card details. Information that you choose to send when contacting HOLDCOM support is handled under the HOLDCOM website privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting information
Saved preferences and lap results remain until you reset them, clear EDI's app data in Android settings or uninstall EDI. App-managed captures are removed when app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Files exported to another destination remain there until you delete them. EDI disables Android automatic app backup.

iPhone and iPad app
The following information applies to the iOS version of HOLDCOM EDI.
Information used on your device
EDI reads vehicle measurements and diagnostic responses through your chosen Bluetooth LE OBD adapter. Bluetooth permission allows the app to find and connect to the adapter. If you enable GPS speed, location is used only while EDI is open. Motion sensors supply the G-force display. Live vehicle readings, location fixes and motion samples are processed in memory; EDI does not record your route.
Your dashboard preferences, vehicle profile and chosen adapter identifier are saved locally. Diagnostic reports and lap results are shared only when you choose a destination in the iOS share sheet. Files you send to another app or cloud service are subject to that provider's privacy policy.
Sharing and purchases
EDI works without an account, advertising SDK or analytics SDK. The app does not automatically upload vehicle readings, location, motion samples, diagnostic results or adapter identity to HOLDCOM. Purchases are handled by Apple; EDI does not receive payment card details.
For prerelease testing, Apple's TestFlight service may collect crash reports, usage information and feedback under Apple's own privacy policy and make testing information available to the developer. This is separate from the EDI app's on-device processing.
Website and support links open another app. Information you choose to send to HOLDCOM support is handled under the HOLDCOM website privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting information
Apple device backups may include app preferences depending on your backup choices. Uninstalling EDI removes its local preferences; exported reports remain wherever you saved them until you delete them. Bluetooth, motion and location access can be revoked in iOS Settings.
